Aetherium Online
Aetherium Online (will be) a custom MMORPG mod/modded server for Hytale, set in a world shaped by a mystical energy known as Aetherium. Players take on the role of adventurers who venture into dangerous, extraction-like dungeons to hunt monsters and harvest rare materials used for all kinds of crafts and jobs. These dungeon runs are high risk; dying before extraction results in the loss of all your equipment and loot, making each run a risky investment.
Surviving adventurers return to the surface and can then travel to the nearest settlement. Monster materials are valuable in pretty much every trade, as they can be used to produce fine armor, weaponry, jewelry, and more. Take the materials yourself and refine them in your own tavern, guild, blacksmith, tannery, and other businesses. Earn currency, reputation, and progress or upgrade your operations.
The mod’s core loop contrasts tense, dangerous dungeon diving with calm, social hub gameplay, job mastery, and base building. Over time, players expand their businesses, strengthen their guilds, unlock new biomes and dungeons, and explore the world. Built using Hytale’s modding and world-generation tools, Aetherium Online is designed to scale gradually, starting on a small scope and growing over time through community feedback, allowing new regions, dungeons, and jobs to be added as the project grows.
